Take a Step for Children Charity Walk
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Wai Yin Association – Redford Charitable Foundation “Take a Step for Children” Charity Walk. This unprecedented joint fundraising event by our two government registered charities will raise funds for children in need, including UNICEF, and The Pathways Foundation Limited. In addition, we hope to promote charity with fun, family oriented activities.

About Wai Yin
Wai Yin Association was formed in 1982 by a group of community-conscious Miss Hong Kong title-holders and finalists committed to the betterment of society. In 1993, Wai Yin officially became a Hong Kong Certified Charity Institution approved and recognized by the Hong Kong Government. Through various fundraising events, the association has donated millions of dollars to more than one hundred charitable institutions. Currently, sixteen welfare centers and schools are named after “Wai Yin”.

This year, Wai Yin is fundraising for The Pathways Foundation Limited. Established in 2001, The Pathways Foundation Limited successfully supports children diagnosed with specific learning disabilities (SLD), including dyslexia, as well as those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), providing them with individualized and group instruction and creative activities both at its centre and in schools in order to help enhance school progress and boost lost self-esteem.

Redford Charitable Foundation
Redford Charitable Foundation was formed in early 2008. In May 2008, Redford Charitable Foundation has been approved and recognized as a Hong Kong Government registered charity organization.
Our mission is to raise funds to help those who are less fortunate, alleviating their difficulties and giving assistance to people in need. Our Foundation is running at a ‘zero’ administration fee and will make every endeavor to serve the Community with special focus on children and elderlies.

One of our main goals is to build a school annually to help those less fortunate children to enjoy the privilege of education, and to help improve their opportunity in the society. Redford Charitable Foundation has donated our first Redford Charity school in Guangxi in 2007. In March 2008, our Foundation has raised $360,000 to build a second school in Xinjiang, China through World Vision Hong Kong. Redford Charitable Foundation events throughout the past years including rice donation & distribution to elderly homes and live-alone elderlies, donation to Sichuan Earthquake, Community Chest, and arrange Christmas carol for Children’s Heart Foundation to bring happiness to their members.
