Since 1982, the incorporation of Wai Yin Association united a group of women who desired to be of service to the community in sharing a remarkable destiny. I believe that Wai Yin is the only women's "government-certified charity group" in the world with members who are Beauty Pageant 'titleholders and finalists'.

When we act collectively and combine a warm heart along with our bountiful knowledge, education and resources to help others, we can achieve great things as we work for the good of the community.

The formation of Wai Yin allows the members to dedicate themselves to serve and facilitate change in areas where they can make a difference, thus realising the motto ' The Wai Yin Association....making a difference to Hong Kong'.

The purpose of Wai Yin's existence is to give and do charitable works. In doing so, we seek to serve the community by helping others less fortunate than ourselves to attain a better life; this in turn gives one's life 'value'. Moreover, charitable actions benefit one's life by cultivating compassion - a spiritual value. The work of Wai Yin is a 'labour of compassion'.

Whilst Wai Yin focuses on philanthropy and individual social responsibility, it provides a worthy platform for corporate sponsors to engage in works of charity and to exercise corporate social responsibility. The funds raised from annual projects benefit organisations whose mission is to make a difference in the lives of people in need. With our shared belief in serving the community and addressing on going social issues, we jointly act together to alleviate social concerns.

In its constant quest for fund raising challenges as a 'funding provider' to Hong Kong's non-governmental organisations, Wai Yin has shown how beauty and dedication graces compassion.

Our Association appreciates the memories of past years, but we will also be moving forward to rise to new challenges, new aspirations and new heights of success. Wai Yin has the strength and vitality to strive, thrive and live for the betterment of Hong Kong's future.
